William (Bill) Stewart is founder and current SysOp for this Wiki.  He is founder of the start-up [http://eseri.net/ Eseri.net], and provides consulting assistance to technology organizations in the Ottawa area. Previously, he spent twelve years in system integration where he variously served as a system architect, system engineer, engineering lead, company software manager, company system engineering manager, technical lead and deputy project manager of a $20M information fusion project, system engineering manager for pursuit of a $3B helicopter integration project, and project manager of a $14M health information systems effort.


Before that, he went to graduate school and obtained a doctorate in computer science from [http://unb.ca/ UNB] for his thesis on construction of multi-dimensional convex hulls from spherical distributions in optimum space and time. Before that, he worked for the Canadian Federal Public Service with responsibility to establish and manage the first Canadian Forces base level computing centre, at CFB Gagetown supporting 4500 personnel, where he developed software solutions to provide base-wide course scheduling and resource management, payroll and personnel systems, and safe management of firing range allocations.

He is maintainer of [http://www.livinginternet.com/ LivingInternet.com] including contributions from many creators of the Internet and referenced in [http://rfc.sunsite.dk/rfc/rfc3271.html RFC 3271], and maintainer of the collection of best practices at [http://funstandard.org/ FunStandard.org].

I learned system integration working for a series of merging aerospace companies, where I served variously as a system architect, security architect, system engineer, software manager, system engineering manager, engineering lead, and project manager, on a range of efforts from vehicular to health information systems integration.  Before that, I received a Ph.D. in Computer Science from [http://unb.ca/ UNB] for a thesis on construction of multi-dimensional convex hulls from spherical distributions in optimum space and time.  My first real job was for the Canadian Public Service, to setup and manage a computing center for a 4,500 person enterprise using DEC PDP-11 computers.

Hi folks, I'm William (Bill) Stewart, founder and current SysOp for this Wiki. I'm also architect of Cirrus Open, integrating the best open source into a FOSS complete Intranet from system to apps, accessible on virtual desktops, and founder of a hosting company for Cirrus Open, Cirrus Computing. 

I wrote the "first Web published book" Living Internet, and the open source Deeply Practical Project Management reference.  My open source software for convex hulls in multiple dimensions, electoral proportional representation, fuzzy logic linear programming, search trees, and website navigation is collected here.  I was an individual member with the Open Source Development Lab (OSDL), later merged with the Linux Foundation.  I maintain the organizational best practices collection The Fun Standard.  All documents are Creative Commons licensed.
