- What is KDE?

KDE creates a free desktop for Linux and UNIX platforms, focused on ease of use, including office productivity and groupware suites and hundreds of software applications including Internet and web applications, multimedia, entertainment, educational, graphics and software development. KDE software is translated into more than 60 languages, and can also run on Windows. It is released under a range of FOSS licenses.
