Please find below an excerpt from an email from Richard Stallman, the creator of the original Free Software movement, indicating some acceptance of the FOSS/FLOSS terms, with a preference for FLOSS.

The term "FOSS" makes "open source" more visible than "free software" (which it splits apart). So "FOSS" puts the free software movement is at a disadvantage.
If you could switch to "FLOSS", and to "Free/Libre and Open Source Software", you would avoid putting us at this disadvantage. Even if you only do it in the text, and not the domain name, it would still help us.
